Chris Errato

Founder & CEO, MindTrust

For over a decade, Chris has been at the forefront of technology innovation. As the founder and CEO of MindTrust, Chris has advised companies from concept to launch, leading to successful exits including multi-billion dollar acquisitions and IPOs. Serving as the Principal Investigator for the Edscape project's Phase I and II ED/IES SBIR, Chris brings to the team extensive edtech experience. He has developed serious games and computerized adaptive assessments in collaboration with esteemed partners such as the US Navy, IES, NIH, Yale University, UH TIMES, and Baylor College of Medicine

Mark Grossnickle

Senior Vice President of Games and XR, MindTrust

Mark Grossnickle, our team lead, has 19 years of experience as a developer and leader on many large scale 3D projects. In a past life he raised 2M and ran a mobile gaming studio where he hired 15 people and released multiple titles over 5 years including a #1 kids game, a top ten free to play title, and an Apple Top Feature of the week. At MindTrust Mark has overseen large multi-year grant projects for the US Navy, ED/IES, NIH, and even the Saudi Arabian Education department. The project for the Navy, for example, is a large multi-year Unity based project where MindTrust and the University of Houston assess cadets for PTSD susceptibility using biometrics and performance metrics while completing complex tasks in a 3D environment.

Dr. John Sabatini

Distinguished Research Professor in the Institute for Intelligent Systems at the University of Memphis and will provide evaluation support.

Dr. Jean Hampel

Istation’s Test Development Manager, has a PhD from Johns Hopkins University on Mind, Brain, & Teaching, and she has experience teaching middle school math and instructional coaching. She will assist with the assessments and validation of the product.

Dr. David Grossnickle

(PhD in Evolutionary Biology) is a biology researcher and former high school teacher who will assist with room design, assessment, and recruiting.

Dr. Mei Tan

(PhD in Developmental Psychology) will run the focus groups and assist John Sabatini with targeted assessments, assessment methodology and evaluation.

Enrique Cachafeiro

is our educational technology and escape room expert with vast experience developing novel educational solutions, such as the Room of Keys which is an escape room he built to teach enzymes. Enrique will lead the educational side of the room design and will ensure the puzzles match the curriculum.

Mick McCarthy

has worked with learners for 20 years, including four years teaching middle school match and will assist with designing to curriculum standards.

Brook Mabry

iStation’s Creative Learning Director, will provide the backwards design templates used to create puzzles tailored to the curriculum.

Dr. Max Louwerse

is Professor of Cognitive Psychology & Artificial Intelligence at Tilburg University. Leads the research team that is driving the science behind Space Buzz, a STEM-based VR platform used in over 400 schools worldwide.

Eileen McGivney

is a recent Harvard PhD whose research focuses on Virtual Reality and Immersive Learning Environments. Nandini Chatterjee Sighn is a cognitive neuroscientist at UNESCO MGCIEP and is an expert in game-based learning and assessment.

Rod Roscoe

Associate Professor at Arizona State University, will consult on diversity, equity, and inclusion issues int he design and implementation of the platform.
